How to import an iCal calendar into MyRent
iCal import lets MyRent periodically read availability from another calendar. Connect the correct property, use the source iCal URL and verify the result after saving.

What does iCal import mean?
With import, MyRent reads another system's iCal URL and uses events from that feed for calendar availability. Export is the opposite direction: another system reads the MyRent calendar.

How to import iCal into MyRent
Before saving, confirm the correct accommodation unit and copy the complete iCal URL from the source calendar.

Open the accommodation unit
Find the property or unit that should receive imported availability.

Open Sync → iCal
Open iCal synchronization settings and select the source you want to connect.

Paste the source iCal URL
Enter the required details and paste the full calendar URL, not the contents of a downloaded .ics file.

Save and test the connection
Save the settings and verify that MyRent can retrieve the feed without an error.

Verify a known occupied period
Compare at least one future occupied period with the source calendar to confirm the correct unit is connected.

Synchronization is not instant
iCal works by periodic feed retrieval. Do not expect every new reservation to appear instantly; refresh timing depends on the systems exchanging the calendar.

Most issues can be narrowed down by checking the URL, source and connection direction.
MyRent cannot retrieve the URL
Check that the link is complete, retrievable as a calendar feed and does not open a login or HTML page.
A reservation is missing
Allow for the next refresh and confirm the correct accommodation unit and source calendar.
Duplicate blocks appear
Check whether the same source was imported more than once or whether API and iCal connections run in parallel.
Dates look shifted
Compare arrival and departure in the source calendar. iCal events have a start and end; departure normally does not add another occupied night.

Is iCal import two-way synchronization?
Not by itself. Import means MyRent reads an external feed. The opposite direction needs a separate export or another integration.
Does iCal transfer prices and booking rules?
iCal is primarily used for calendar events and availability. Prices, restrictions and other sales data require a supported integration.
Can I connect the same URL to several units?
Every connection should map to the correct accommodation unit to avoid incorrect blocks.
Why is a change not visible immediately?
iCal is not a push connection. Systems fetch feeds periodically, so there can be a delay.
