Expedia Group announced the global launch of Vrbo Sponsored Listings on 1 September 2026. The new advertising product gives properties access to premium placements in relevant Vrbo search results. For professional property managers, an important question is whether these campaigns can be managed from a PMS or Channel Manager.

MyRent therefore contacted Expedia Group Integration Services directly and asked about future connectivity API support for Sponsored Listings.

What is Vrbo Sponsored Listings?

According to Expedia Group's official announcement, Sponsored Listings is a globally launched advertising product for Vrbo partners. It uses a pay-per-booked-night model and is designed to provide additional visibility through premium placements near the top of relevant search results.

How are campaigns managed today?

In a written reply to MyRent dated 30 September 2026, Expedia Group Integration Services confirmed that users currently need to log in to the Expedia Group Advertiser portal. This applies whether they manage Vrbo listings directly or through connected software.

In practice, distributing a property to Vrbo through MyRent does not currently mean that its Sponsored Listings campaign can be managed from MyRent. Campaign management is handled in the separate Advertiser portal.

Is there an API for PMS and Channel Manager partners?

According to the same Expedia Group response, connectivity-partner API enrollment has been discussed for the roadmap, but there is currently no published ETA.

This distinction matters: API access is not available today and no public launch date has been confirmed. MyRent will monitor the roadmap and technical documentation and evaluate integration when Expedia Group makes suitable access available to connectivity partners.

What would MyRent want to connect when an API becomes available?

  • enable and pause Sponsored Listings campaigns per property
  • manage bids, budgets and supported bid modifiers
  • apply date, length-of-stay or other targeting supported by the API
  • retrieve impressions, clicks, bookings, spend and ROAS
  • link advertising cost back to the relevant reservation
  • manage many properties and property-manager accounts from one PMS interface

Why does this matter for professional property managers?

A company managing dozens or hundreds of properties does not want another disconnected workflow for every operational task. If Expedia Group opens the appropriate API in the future, the main value would be to bring distribution, pricing, reservations and paid visibility into a connected workflow.

For MyRent, the goal would be more than adding another control. Attribution is especially interesting: connecting advertising cost with the reservation would help managers measure real return by property.

What should MyRent users do now?

If Sponsored Listings is available for your Vrbo properties and you want to use it today, current guidance is to manage campaigns through the Expedia Group Advertiser portal. MyRent's existing Vrbo connectivity continues to manage distribution within the functionality currently supported.

MyRent will keep following the roadmap

OTA distribution is increasingly expanding beyond rates, availability and reservations. Advertising, attribution and return measurement are becoming part of the wider distribution stack. MyRent will continue to follow Expedia Group's roadmap and assess integration once connectivity-partner API access becomes available.
